How to: import from excel data into informUp |

Description: Importing data from Excel to informUp Server is not difficult as you might think. If you have data in an Excel spreadsheet that you want to import into informUp Server, this article will walk you through all the steps required to perform this job, easily.
Import Data to Main Table (e.g. impot test cases): - In the 'Connection String' select the path of the Excel file which you want to import data from.
- In the 'Excel Sheet Name' write the worksheet name in the excel.
- In the 'Table's Name in informUp' choose a destination table name where you want to import your data
- In case you do not have the work item type in your worksheet you can define it in the 'Work Item Type'.
- Press the 'Test Fields' button
- Choose the names of the fields in informUp for missing fields.
- Press the Import button.

Import Data to Regular Table (e.g. impot operating system): - In the 'Connection String' select the path of the Excel file which you want to import data from.
- In the 'Excel Sheet Name' write the worksheet name in the excel.
- In the 'Table's Name in informUp' choose a destination table name where you want to import your data
- Press the 'Test Fields' button
- Choose in the option 'Name' in the drop down list.
- Press the Import button.

Import Data to Nested Table (e.g. impot products and versions): Importing data to the products table is the same as importing data into regular table. After you have the produtcs available in your products table you can import the data into the versions table. - In the 'Connection String' select the path of the Excel file which you want to import data from.
- In the 'Excel Sheet Name' write the worksheet name in the excel.
- In the 'Table's Name in informUp' choose a destination table name where you want to import your data (e.g. versions)
- Press the 'Test Fields' button
- In the missing fields Choose 'ParentID' for the parent table (e.g. Products).
- In the missing fields Choose 'Name' for the nested table (e.g. Versions).
- Press the Import button.
